About Us

Since becoming a registered charity in 2016, the Tithe Barn Trust has focused on our mission: ensuring the long-term survival of the rare and ancient Tithe Barn, by breathing new life into the site for everyone to enjoy.

In 2019, the Trust took on a 99 year lease of the Tithe Barn. Urgent repair and restoration works to the Tithe Barn was completed, including stabilizing the structure and having the roof re-thatched. This work was possible because of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Amey Community Fund, the Garfield Weston Foundation, the October Fund and the public for helping us to make this happen.

In 2022, the Trust was able to secure a grant from the Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Along with generous public donations, this enabled the purchase and installation of our onsite eco-toilets.

Our next project will be further improvements to the site, including bringing in electricity and adding some storage for equipment and supplies.
