The barn is in a state of disrepair and unless we act now we could lose this treasure at the heart of Landbeach. The Tithe Barn Trust estimates it will need around £600,000 to restore the barn and bring it fully back into use for the local community. We envisage this money will be raised from a combination of grants, donations (large and small), fund raising events and our membership scheme.
The team is short listing potential grant award bodies and working on ensuring the Trust is ‘Grant Ready’ in preparation for making formal grant applications. As part of this the Trust is negotiating a lease with South Cambridgeshire District Council for the use of the Barn. We are now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and have joined the HMRC Gift Aid scheme, so we can recover tax back on eligible donations made.
The Trust has already received over £60,000 generous offers of financial support in the form of pledges for the Tithe Barn. This sets us well on our way to reaching our target to re-thatch the roof and restore the barn. The more pledges we have from the community, the more likely our grant applications will be successful and the dream of restoring the barn will be realised.
Making a pledge is easy to do. We have a simple online application for you to complete. Alternatively we have a form for you to download, complete and return to us.
Thank you so much for your support for the Tithe Barn and for helping us restore this historic barn for the benefit of generations to come.
